Alzheimer’s Disease is a disorder that destroys cells in the brain. The disease is the leading cause of dementia, a condition that involves gradual memory loss, inability to perform routine tasks, difficulty learning, loss of language skills, impaired judgment, and personality changes. As this disease progresses, people become unable to care for themselves. Progression of the disease can vary from person to person.

Mild symptoms include memory loss, confusion, increased time to complete simple tasks, difficulty handling finances, mood and personality changes and increased anxiety. Moderate symptoms include increased memory loss and confusion, short attention span, problems recognizing friends and family, difficulty reading, writing and working with numbers, restlessness, wandering, hallucinations and increased suspiciousness. Severe symptoms include weight loss, seizures, difficulty swallowing, increased sleeping, incontinence of bladder and bowel. No matter what stage of Alzheimer’s Disease your loved one has, the most difficult decision is choosing competent caregivers.

We can provide all levels of care with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Aides, and Companions. We can provide service from one hour to twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. All cases are assessed and monitored by a Registered Nurse who is in contact with your Family Physician, so the best care plan can be developed for your loved one.
